Movie Trivia Time!

So Samantha and Miss Raquel are doing this fun movie quote game on their blogs. And guess what? I couldn't miss out on the fun! =)

Here are the rules:

1. Pick 20 of your favorite movies.

2. Go to IMDB.com and find a quote from each movie.

3. Post them for everyone to guess.

4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.

5. NO cheating.

I will give you all until Saturday to guess. Ready? Get set. GO!

1. Character #1 - "A mother's love holds fast and forever. A girl's love is like a puff of smoke - it changes with every wind." (North & South) - Miss Raquel

2. Character #1 - "Tell me, Honey, how come you're so cute?"
Character #2 - "I had to be if I was going to get such a good-looking fella." (Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo) - Achaia

3. Character #1 - "All pioneers are considered to be afflicted with moonstruck madness." (Anne of Avonlea) - Miss Raquel

4. Character #1 - "I know that a mother can take a whip to the toughest boy in the world, and he forgets it because he knows that she loves him."

5. Character #1 - "Boys have an inflexible sense of honor and they never betray a trust. Give them confidence and they will return you loyalty. There is no redemption for youth in the lash."

6. Character #1 - "Is it too late to ask you to grow old with me?"(Fireproof) - Lindsay

7. Character #1 - "Why you no kill me?"
Character #2 - "Maybe because of another law. We have trouble living up to it, but it ain't bad for red man or white man: thou shall not kill." (Davy Crockett with Fess Parker) - Miss. Raquel

8. Character #1 - "Oh my gosh, he's so cute."
Character #2 - "Who said that?"
Character #1 - "Um, sorry." (Prince Caspian) - Lindsay

9. Character #1 - "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." (Casablanca) - Kirstin

10. Character #1 - "It's an interesting problem. I shall be happy to hear when you have solved it."
Character #2 - "Then be happy Captain, I just solved it!"
Character #1 - "I'm delighted." (The Inn of the Sixth Happiness) - Amber

11. Character #1 - "The Six Senses."
Character #2 - "The subject I gave you was the five senses."
Character #1 - "Well, for my topic, I chose six senses."
Character #2 - "Go on, Patricia."
Character #1 - "The Six Senses: To see, to hear, to taste, to smell, to feel... to be." (Bells of St. Mary's)- Caroline

12. Character #1 - "I rode through the rain! I'd - I'd ride through worse than that if I could just hear your voice telling me that I might, at least, have some chance to win you." (Emma) - Jane

13. Character #1 - "As a matter of interest, will a time come when I read them first?"
Character #2 - "You'll enjoy this. She has a real flair for description." (Young Victoria) - Jane

14. Character #1 - "What happened?"
Character #2 - "Oh nothing, I just cracked my skull." (The Long, Long Trailer) - Bonnie

15. Character #1 - "Either I'm dead right, or I'm crazy!" (Mr. Smith Goes to Washington) - Rosebud

16. Character #1 - "What's a hee-lot?"
Character #2 - "You've ever been broke, sonny?"
Character #1 - "Sure, mostly often."
Character #2 - "All right. You're walking along, not a nickel in your jeans, your free as the wind, nobody bothers ya. Hundreds of people pass you by in every line of buisness: shoes, hats, automobiles, radios, everything, and there all nice lovable people and they lets you alone, is that right? Then you get a hold of some dough and what happens, all those nice sweet lovable people become hee-lots, a lotta heels. They begin to creep up on ya, trying to sell ya something: they get long claws and they get a stranglehold on ya, and you squirm and you duck and you holler and you try to push them away but you haven't got the chance. They gots ya. First thing ya know you own things, a car for instance, now your whole life is messed up with alot more stuff: you get license fees and number plates and gas and oil and taxes and insurance and identification cards and letters and bills and flat tires and dents and traffic tickets and motorcycle cops and tickets and courtrooms and lawers and fines and... a million and one other things. What happens? You're not the free and happy guy you used to be. You need to have money to pay for all those things, so you go after what the other fellas got. There you are, you're a hee-lot yourself." (Meet John Doe) - Achaia

17. Character #1 - "I want it to be a soft green, not as blue-green as a robin's egg, but not as yellow-green as daffodil buds. Now, the only sample I could get is a little too yellow, but don't let whoever does it go to the other extreme and get it too blue. It should just be a sort of grayish-yellow-green. Now, the dining room. I'd like yellow. Not just yellow; a very gay yellow. Something bright and sunshine-y. I tell you, Mr. PeDelford, if you'll send one of your men to the grocer for a pound of their best butter, and match that exactly, you can't go wrong! Now, this is the paper we're going to use in the hall. It's flowered, but I don't want the ceiling to match any of the colors of the flowers. There's some little dots in the background, and it's these dots I want you to match. Not the little greenish dot near the hollyhock leaf, but the little bluish dot between the rosebud and the delphinium blossom. Is that clear? Now the kitchen is to be white. Not a cold, antiseptic hospital white. A little warmer, but still, not to suggest any other color but white. Now for the powder room - in here - I want you to match this thread, and don't lose it. It's the only spool I have and I had an awful time finding it! As you can see, it's practically an apple red. Somewhere between a healthy winesap and an unripened Jonathan. Oh, excuse me..."
Character #2 - "You got that Charlie?"
Character #3 - "Red, green, blue, yellow, white."
Character #2 - "Check." (Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House) - Kirstin

18. Character #1 - "Just say one word and tell me if you're killed!"
Character #2 - "No... but I think I've been rendered unconscious." (Anne of Green Gables) - Jane

19. Character #1 - "Open my present Peter! It's crayons. If you don't want them, I'll have them!" (The Railway Children) - Marian

20. Character #1 - "Not too sweet, not too sour."
character #2 - "Just too, uh... pink." (The Sound of Music) - Lady Helen Mar

Start guessing! =)

What I have been up to....

Let me say, I have been sewing. Just some of my projects have been for my family lately, siblings mostly, and they don't want their pictures up here. =)

But, I will share one of my current sewing projects. It is a 1950s pajama Capri set. Using "Ava Rose" fabric that I bought in Marie-Madeline's latest bundle sale. Plus some brown vintage rick-rack (it is made out of cotton!), pink vintage/retro buttons, and a vintage Butterick pattern. You have the recipe for one cute pair of pajamas! =)

I'm making view C, the one in the back. My Capri's are made out of the stripe fabric. While the hem binding and strings that lace up the sides are made out of the rose fabric you see above, but in a darker shade of pink. The top will be made out the rose fabric you see above and trimmed with vintage rick-rack.

I am also working on a headband tutorial for this week, which will be featured on another blog! So exciting! I will let you all know when that is up. =)

Um, lets see here. Oh, this week I was to make something from the 1930s, you know for that sewing challenge, but I couldn't find the perfect inspiration. Oh well, this week is the 1940s and I'm going to have a hard time narrowing down my favorites I would like to sew. ;-) And next week is the 1950s! My favorite era!

I'm thinking on doing a post on some of my favorite Old Time Radio Shows, and where I find them on the internet to download, for free! Would any of you be interested in this?

It's Blog Parade Time!

Rebecca at Sewing in the Past is having a blog parade. And I decided to join in! I am to list ten things that make me happy. So without further ado, ten things that make me happy with a vintage twist (the images). =)

Things That Make Me Happy

 1. Going on vacations with my family across the country.

2. Having camp-outs (slumber parties)  on the weekends with my brother and sisters.

3. Listening to Old-Time Radio Shows on my ipod.

4. Doing too many sewing projects at one time. =)

5. Reading a good book that makes me stay up too late. ;-)

6. Eating ice-cream. Any flavor is fine, just about, but mint-chocolate chip is my favorite!

7. Finding wonderful findings at antique malls/stores.

8. Opening up presents and also giving presents to others. I have a hard time keeping presents a secret during Christmas time. I always want to tell everyone what I got them. :P

9. Receiving a new comment and follower on Bramblewood Fashion.

10. Having a tea party! The best part of a tea party? Dressing up of course! =)
