We have a friend coming over today. So I have a day full of talking, laughter, sewing, and a tea party ahead. I want to wear something comfy, yet stylish. I think this outfit fits the bill. For when I want to be comfy I don't want to be sloppy comfy, or look like I'm in pj's. Also, I'm so excited that it is cool enough for me to wear my sweater dress again. I love this new outfit combination! It is very Patriotic. You know what? Since we came back from San Antonio I’ve been mixing up my outfits a lot - trying new combinations and looks.

Today I served at my Church for a Seniors Luncheon that happens once every month. Except during the winter months, December through February. But we do bake cookies for the Seniors at Valentines. Well, today was special, as I gave a presentation at the Luncheon on Historical Costuming. I was so nervous. But it worked out alright. Afterwards we did Operation Christmas Child with the Seniors.

I love this new outfit I put together randomly this morning for work today. I LOVE it! Ever since I received the boyfriend blazer for Christmas last year, I've had a hard time styling it. I love the jacket - I just don't always know what to pair it with. =P

Today I can say, the cooler weather is back! It is so nice for it to feel like like fall outside, instead of summer. =) I'll be spending the day inside though doing some more sewing. Yesterday, I came up with a design for Shabby Apple's Dare to Design contest. The deadline is tomorrow. What can I say? I get a thrill with doing things at the last moment. I also get more inspired. =)

I love this dress! Gabrielle made it for herself, but sadly she grew out of it. So she gave it to me. =) When we are going out to eat, I usually don't wear anything special. Except for holidays, then I usually dress up when we go out.

It is the second day of Marie's Autumn Modest Fashion Showcase today. The pencil skirt I'm wearing today reminds of something form either J. Crew or Anthropologie - except for a fraction of the cost. I found the fabric at Joann's in the quilters cotton section for $6 yd. And with the pattern needing only about 2 yards it comes out much cheaper then either store. I'm also wearing my owl jewelry today. I don't know why I like owl jewelry - maybe because I'm a night owl? =)  

Oh, I stopped at Famous Footwear today after work and bought my dream pair of black pumps! They didn't have my size in the store, so they will be shipping the shoes to my house from another store. I can't wait for them to arrive. I already have my outfit planned out for when the do arrive and I can wear them. =)

Today is day one of Marie's Autumn Modest Fashion Showcase. Hurray! To church today I wore my favorite skirt ever - my jean pencil skirt. It goes with pretty much everything in my closet. Which is so exciting - sometimes I wish I could wear it everyday. =) Do any of you have something that you wished/or do wear everyday?

Today marks the beginning of A Girl's Fashion Week over at Mod Style Lounge. The theme for today is  what would you wear to the big game.  

To the big game I would wear jeans and a t-shirt that matches the team colors. My favorite pro football teams are the Colts & Lions. (see my lions earrings.) While my favorite college team is University of Michigan.  And guess what?!? All three teams have the color blue as part of their team colors. =) So I'm cheering for all three teams at the same time.

Today was rather warm, meaning I was hot in my boots and long-sleeves. But I didn't care as I love this new outfit combination. Out of all my printed skirts, this one has to be the most versatile. I have worn it many different ways - they are all featured on the blog here. 


Didn't do much today. Went to work. Researched for some upcoming sewing projects. Went for a walk after dinner with my mom. I'm watching a baseball on TV right now. My team is winning - for now at least. =)   What did you all do today?

I'm so excited to be wearing this blouse! Why, you may ask? It used to be my mom's. She received this blouse for her nineteenth birthday back in 1983. I have owned this blouse since I was around the age of eleven, or twelve. But I was only able to wear the blouse for a few years. The blouse looks best with a skirt that sits on your waist, or higher. And for the longest time I didn't have a skirt that fit that requirement - until now. I paired it with my favorite, and only, denim pencil skirt, wedges, pearl earrings, and cameo necklace.  My outfit has several sentimental pieces in it. Blouse - was my Mom's. Pearl Earrings - received for my thirteenth birthday. Cameo Necklace - bought at Portobello Market in London last year.  

I also forgot to mention, the blouse reminds us of one worn by Shirley Temple in The Story of Seabiscuit (1949) and by Jean Arthur in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939).  Both of which are favorite movies of ours, but that is for another day. 

This evening, my mom, sisters, and I attended Mrs. Morecraft's School of Elocution & Composition (Webinar). It was most delightfully fun. I don't know if I can wait until next week for the next class. =) Are any of you taking the class? 

I've been busy sewing mock-ups for our SAICFF formals lately. Tomorrow I get to start on one of the real dresses. You know, making the actual dress. =)
